27 January 1852
Dear Sister Martha
I have been expecting a letter from you
living but haven’t received one in a long
time. I would be so glad to hear from you and
Brother how are you all getting on how is your
little boy. I wish I could see him kiss him
for me. I know he is sweet. Oh I have a
fine fat little boy was born the 25th of
October he is named John Hardwick my little
girl is well and just as fat as a pig
I have had the rheumatisms in my jaws
and neck and shoulder. This winter I never
suffered so much with the tooth ache in my
life but I hope I am nearly well of it now
tho I have the ear ache and tooth ache in bad
weather yet. I don’t no that I have my news that
will interest you. Pa’s family is all well at this
time. Brother Isaac has ben to see me several times
he left here last Sunday he is quite well and
looks well he can walk right smart with one
crutch now he is going to start to school in
two or three weeks. Sister Martha you must come
to see us when Brother goes to Richmond after
his goods tell him I say he must be sure to
bring you to stay with us while he is gone.
Write to me when you receive this and tell me
whether you have Manerve with you or not tell
her howdy for me tell her. I will write soon to her
the next time I write to you. Give my love to
Miss Anne when you see her give my respects
to Brother and accept a large portion your self
